Overview
NPS Presbytery is a growing, generous, venturesome presbytery believing that God has positioned us for significant ministry in the coming decade.  Our mission is to engage, equip and encourage people and congregations as we follow Jesus to transform the world. We are a covenant community of Christ with 38 churches in diverse communities and cultures all over the North Puget Sound area in Washington State from Shoreline/Edmonds (South) to Bellingham (North), and from Acme (East) to Neah Bay (West).

Since 1980, the Presbytery of North Puget Sound h
as steadily grown in the number of Korean-American congregations, ministers, and members.  The first Korean congregation (United “Yunhap” Presbyterian Church of Seattle, formerly Korean United Presbyterian Church) was chartered in 1980.

In 2009 we chartered Baker Community Presbyterian Church (BCPC), the first Korean Presbyterian congregation north of Everett, WA.  BCPC recently completed their first worship facility in Mt. Vernon, WA.

In 2010 we welcomed Community Church of Seattle (CCS or Hyungjae Church) to NPS Presbytery from the Seattle Presbytery.  CCS is now our largest congregation with 1800 members and 3000+ attending each Sunday.  In 2011 we launched Wellspring Seattle, a ministry to second generation Korean Americans extending throughout Puget Sound.  Today 3000 of 8500 Presbyterians are Korean-American and 8 of 38 congregations in NPS Presbytery are predominantly Korean-American.

This position is a .5 FTE called and installed position with a 2-year designated term for the purpose of building up the ministry and mission relationships between traditionally English-speaking ministries and Korean-ministries within the presbytery.  The focus of this ministry is to help NPSP fully engage the potential for mission and ministry between Korean-American NPS Presbyterians and English-Speaking NPS Presbyterians. NPS Presbytery hopes that with an effective, fruitful ministry, we might expand the position to full-time and partner with neighboring presbyteries in 2-3 years.

You will be joining a strong staff team of a full-time Executive Presbyter, full-time Communications Coordinator, ½ time Stated Clerk, ½ time Director of Wellspring (2nd Generation Asian-American Ministry), contracted Financial Administrator, volunteer Treasurer and Coordinator of Conflict responses.

We are accepting PIFs of qualified candidates.
